The C Spot LA - Create Your Special Space
Candis began her love for dance during her early school years. During her senior year, her family moved from Los Angeles to Anaheim. She tried out for the dance team to make new friends where she discovered her love for jazz dance. This new exposure led to dancing with a college dance troupe-Skyline Dancers (UCSB) for 4 years. And in her most current years, you can see her rocking the "stage"/ court dancing for the WNBA LA Sparks Ole Skool Crew.
Candis is definitely not new in the dance world with the "Behind-the-Scenes"/operations sort of work. She's worked with many schools with their Arts/Dance program to producing a Dance Fitness Instructor Competition for The FitExpo called Wow The Crowd. Candis is also one of the Founders/Directors for
United By 8, an Adult Dance Camp Retreat.
The Next Move...Why not continue to support and spread the love of dance to the community and open up a studio. It's pretty darn awesome to hear what The C Spot LA means to people; how it makes them feel; the smiles I see after they've taken a dance class; and that good, big energy shared with each other.
I found my love of dance when my adult daughter saw me bogeying down at a wedding and said she'd never seen me so happy. I started taking classes, lost weight, and made new friends. It was great. After my partner of 26 years died in August 2020, 2 weeks after our dog, I was devastated until we found a spot for a few of us to dance together. I realized I wanted to open a studio so I could recreate the community I loved. It took a while to convince Candis to join me in this venture but when she finally agreed, I retired from my day job and here we are! The C Spot has turned out even better than I had dared to hope - a beautiful space with a great vibe, wonderful teachers and when people emerge from a class, dripping with sweat, totally exhausted yet filled with joy, I am so very happy
